Satisfying cravings.

Finally met up with the soul buddy! :) Have always looked forward to meet-ups with this lovely because we're so similar albeit being different in some ways at the same time. Having someone with the same mentality and mindset on so many things in life makes me feel so blessed to have her as my soul buddy! We were discussing about what to have for dinner two days back, and we settled for Thai food due to my cravings :p As usual, Ladyironchef remains our best search engine when it comes to thinking of places to dine at or explore. In the end, we decided on Suanthai Restaurant! :)

A 10-minutes walk from Somerset MRT, this place is pretty accessible. Along a whole stretch of other yummy eateries at Killiney Road, we decided that we'll check out the other eateries on our upcoming meet-ups! CANT WAIT. We are oh-so-greedy!

Anyway, we went for the all-you-can-eat ala carte buffet. Omgosh, we couldn't even finish the food! There are certain items (six, to be exact) on the buffet menu that can only be ordered once, and those are the items that they'll actually serve you first. Thank goodness we only ordered a mango salad on top of the 'mandatory' items! Lesson learnt: go for the buffet with more friends!

In sequence: Thai Rice crackers, Green mango salad and pineapple rice that we ordered to share, Tom Yum Soup w prawns, Chicken wrapped in Pandan leaf (yums), boneless stuffed chicken wing, Stir-fried mixed seafood w basil & long beans. And there's a Thai style chicken satay too, which I did not capture opps.

We added $2.99+ per person for free-flow of iced-lemon tea. We couldn't even finish that amount of tea, look at the jug!! But I must say, their iced-tea is really really nice (Y)

We were there pretty early, about 6pm, we were the first two diners! :) We were wondering about the "crowd" that was mentioned by Ladyironchef because there really wasn't a crowd till about 7pm! But when we left the eatery at about 8 or so, it was really packed!! I wanna go back againnnnnn, with a bigger group of friends of course :p Nom nom nom.

Went to H&M and we were stuck there for an hour, ended up buying 1-2 pieces each! Retail therapy, sigh :)

Us with the floral cat ears and shades from H&M, heh heh.

And I brought the new Galaxy Camera out today! Gosh, I am still not used to the (light) weight because I'm very comfortable with my Nikon D5200. And it's so funnily strange, I can't seem to capture pictures without shaking/moving, resulting in blurred images till a couple of tries later. URGH. Anyway, pictures from this post are captured using the Galaxy Camera (except the selca collage) w only minor editing in terms of sharpness (SIGH, MY HANDS).

Practice makes perfect, x.

The greatest pillar of support and source of love;

I'm learning to appreciate my mum a little bit more each day as I grow up. With every day that passes, I experience different things, feel different emotions, meet different people and learn. And with all these, I return home to my mum who'd always be either busy with the household chores or stuck in front of her favourite drama serial. I've always been wondering how she can bear the mental exhaustion from work and still come home to prepare dinner and perform daily chores. I am guilty of not helping her sometimes, being very nua/sloth-like when I'm home. Point is - I really do admire my mum a lot. She hasn't had it easy all these years either, with three naughty daughters (though I daresay I should be at the bottom of the naughty list at home) ;P Okay, maybe naughty is the wrong word to use. But anyway, I think it should hit everyone that - with each day that we're growing older, our mummy is too. When we were all kids, most of us are fortunate being born in this generation, we didn't have that much to worry about as compared to our parents'/grandparents' generation. And when we were really young kids, or maybe it's just me, there was this mindset that our mother will be there for us and with us throughout. And as we grow up and learn more things about how the world is and how it works, we know that one day she will leave us due to old age etc. In the recent years, I spot wrinkles on mummy's face, and I'd always urge her to go for her facial/spa appointments more frequently. Not because I'm promoting vanity, but I realize it's because I don't want to see her age (which I know of course, is impossible). I always laugh at my mum telling her that she's half a century old already, and at this point of time, I just want her to enjoy herself by buying things that she likes, go on trips with daddy etc. All in all, I'm thankful to have my mum as my mum! :') I am not the academically smartest one at home, neither am I the most ideal kind of daughter perhaps, but I am thankful for all the naggings, scoldings, care, concern, words of wisdom, support, protection and love showered upon me for the past 21 years. And I am thankful that in this life you've given birth to two daughters before I came into existence, giving me two awesome (SOMETIMES ONLY LAH HAHA) sisters, hehe x.

Gave mummy a treat at Pizzeria Mozza at MBS on Saturday! Nommmm.

The complimentary snack was really addictive! :) We ordered grilled asparagus with parma ham, grated parmesan and olive oil as our starter. And for our pizza we had the Prosciutto di Parma, rucola, tomato & mozzarella. Super satisfying lunch! Loved the service too! Will definitely return (Y)

Mummyyyyy! :)

At the end of the day, I rewarded myself with a new toy that I've been doing lots of 'research' (hurhur) on for the past 1-2 months:

The Samsung Galaxy Camera.

Check out the official advert! Intrigued! :) Haven't really explored it thoroughly yet! Will do so this week! :)

“But there's a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking. But behind all your stories is always your mother's story, because hers is where yours begin.”

Freeeee birds!

The sweet smell of freedom after battling with exams must be one of the best things in life! ;) It was a really strenuous and exhausting semester as compared to the previous sem but I'm glad it's over now! The papers were unforgiving this time (I feel), but OH WELL IT'S OVER. Just another year more to go and we'll be ready to join the working world. No idea how it's going to be like for me, am still trying really hard to decide on what I truly want to do or end up doing. But for now, I am just going to enjoy this break! :)

The 5 of us had our celebration and rewarded ourselves with OH-SO-YUMS FOOD ;) We had lunch at Shimbashi Soba located at B1 of Paragon!

Going to catch up on sleep for this week! Have been pretty much like a zombie suffering from insomnia during the study break. A few errands to run this week before my trip to Hongkong! I was so stressed out by my exams that I didn't feel excited for the HKG trip at all. Can't wait to eat and shop non-stop there, so looking forward to duty-free shopping too muahaha. Going to do a little bit of homework on HK this week, am so going back to the awesome stall/eatery with yummylicious crabs that sissy and I visited last January! I CAN'T WAIT. Just wanna get out of here for a bit!

Shall blog bout mummy's day and my new toy soon!
