Distances.

August.

I wished there was a place for gracious dying,
A high place with a distant view.
Where we could gather for a celebration of life
and death and friendship, old and new.
I'd like a place where there would be good music,
Good food and wine - and laughter, games and fun -
And quiet talk with friends and good discussion
of what will happen when this life is done.

- Helen Ansley -

In loving memory; Isaac.

It came as the most unexpected and heartbreaking shock. Mind went blank, started to shiver and shake in fear, took out the last instax I took with you and a few other Holqa members and just stared hard. It was the most unbelievable thing ever. Seeing you in the instax, and knowing that you're just going to be in the instax forever, and that's it, no more seeing the physical you. The tears shed represented the amount of unsaid words, and I really really should have agreed to spend more time with you despite my schedule, when you asked me to accompany you for a haircut back in May, when you asked me to meet you earlier before heading to Marcus' place for steamboat etc. All the should haves, I am truly sorry brother. You always liked to make fun of me but will always become like an elder brother figure whenever you felt that something was amiss in me. You would always reassure me (and at the same time praise yourself) when you said "You're very lucky pammy, you are with very good guys", clearly referring to yourself and Marcus, whenever we meet. That sentence makes me feel safe and really contented, will never forget all the shared memories. I warmly welcome you to appear in my dreams, grant you all the permission to 'bully' me and of course offer each other a listening ear, just like before. We all believe you're in a better place now, being the same old big brother figure, looking over all of your loved ones and friends. That instax has always been in my wallet, and I believe you're going to see me through many events in the future. Stay awesome as ever, wherever you may be! Love you! :)

These few days have been really tough, but I am thankful for the lovely friends. And I will be stronger too, to be there for everyone else around. Thank you darling Jane for accompanying me on Sunday and Monday, being with me throughout, especially on the journeys made in the two days. Traveling to the wake, going home from the wake, going all the way to Clementi with me for school, going to the crematorium and going home together after that. I really couldn't bear the 1 hour+ of traveling alone then. Thank you Sherlene and Nicolette too, Holqa has been the greatest thing that happened in our lives, thanks for the hugs and holding of my hand when we were all breaking down together. Thank you to the rest of the BBGs, vanessa huiyi and fionne, I really love it how we can just go on talking and talking whenever we meet, even though we rarely meet in a year. But there'll be more meet-ups definitely! Special thanks to Vanessa who has been accompanying me in school quite alot these two days! Thank you Crystal and Nian, the lovely duo that has seen me through many things in the past 2 years, I really appreciate having you two around, the best pair of cute little girls (even though Nian is older than us, heheh) in my eyes. Thank you for being the stronger ones this time girls! Thank you Tiang and Jeremy, for always giving me a hug and making sure I'm okay whenever you both walk pass me during the wake/service on Sunday and Monday. And although Jeremy still calls me by the retarded nickname, I still love you guys the same. Thank you friends who have texted/whatsapped me and all, you guys know who you are :')

This chapter has been a wake-up call for many others. And I'm sure Isaac is proud that we are all learning to appreciate and cherish the people around us, even more than before :)

Recent meet-ups in the month of August:

W nian and crystal, the two cute crazy girls who decided to change my birthday to someday in August.

And w Evan and Bernita, my two dear old women seniors. An advanced farewell meal! Shopped around w bern after that and got her a sweater she was eyeing at H&M, something to keep her warm and snuggly.

We love Bangkok!

I finally found some time to do up a post for the recent Bangkok trip!!! Haven't been to Bangkok for several years and at last - satisfied my craving for the crazy shopping there as well as the awesome food! Travelled to BKK via Scoot :> Very pleased w the flight! Can't wait for new routes/destinations by Scoot! It's going to be my favourite long-haul low cost carrier for now :> Anyway, all in all - we headed to Bangkok for 4 days, Budacco Hotel was our accommodation (ANOTHER MAJOR LOVE), shopped till we dropped, visited another Tussauds, enjoyed the ridiculously yummy and affordable food and had lots of fun :>

Anyway, school has been really enjoyable! All thanks to the company :> It makes traveling to Clementi  seem so much better. Work has been so far so good tooooo! Am thankful for a wonderful boss. She's been buying so many kinds of snacks and food for me, worried that I'll be too hungry and so on. I NEED TO START EXERCISING, GOODNESS :p

Will update soon again! Schedule for the upcoming week is not as crazy as the previous one, phew.
