Bangkok, Thailand 2013
Eve of CNY is here once again, and I'm 21 already. It's true that the years go by even faster when you're getting older. I'm not perceiving 21 as "old", of course :)
Anyway, I managed to squeeze some time out to post some pictures from the birthday trip to Bangkok!
Mad love, coconut ice cream at chatuchak! We headed to Chatuchak before even checking in cos we arrived too early! Just placed our luggages w the baggage counter at the hotel and off we went!
Our hotel; Baiyoke Sky. It was my first time there and I love how spacious the room is! :) Room was generally okay, although we would have appreciated it even more if the bathroom lights were a little bit brighter. But honestly - Budacco is still my favourite hotel so far. Anyway, yes that was our loots of day 1.
Awesome breakfast! Street stalls there are a major love :)
We spent the entire second day at Platinum (we could barely complete half the mall), placed our loots back at the hotel, freshened up and headed out for dinner w Georgiana's colleagues who happened to be in BKK too! Dinner was at Somboon Seafood restaurant at Chamchuri Square :)
Day three's brunch was at Platinum's food court! :) Loveeeeee the spicy mango salad! We proceeded to Terminal 21 after that!
I LOVE THAT SHOT OF VAL W THE GEISHA HAHAHA :P
Dinner was at a zi-char stall near Central World/Big C. It was so yummylicious, we felt that it was better than the dinner we had at Somboon Seafood restaurant!!
And yes, we went a tiny bit overboard buying local goods at Central World's supermarket :P We had so much fun just throwing everything into the trolley! People gave us bewildered stares but oh well - we're tourists ;)
Our last day - a birthday lunch at a Jap restaurant - Fuji, next to Platinum Mall's foodcourt. It's definitely cheaper than Sg's jap restaurants but quality wise - we felt that Sushi Tei / Ichiban Boshi are a little better :) And then we spent the remaining hours completing the last 2-3 levels of Platinum mall as well as its new extension (mainly shoes/bags on the top floors).
Am happy w our buys from the trip! The girls went really crazy w their shopping but I'm proud to say that I really did exercise self-control. There were times when I would just wait for them and help them pick stuffs in a shop - and I did not buy any ;P Will definitely head back to BKK again some time this year! Doing my CNY shopping there is a fabulous idea, we actually came across so many pieces of outfits that were being sold in blogshops! And the price? Muahaha. I wouldn't pay like, 27 bucks for a top when I can get it for just 10 bucks. But yes, sometimes I'll still purchase from blogshops :x If only BKK is even nearer to SG, like JB. Whoopppp ;P
May 2013 be an awesome year, filled w trips! :)
Have a happy and prosperous lunar new year all! HUAT AH x
